James Rowles (Editor and Author) received his bachelor and law degrees from Stanford University, and a doctoral degree (S.J.D.) in International Law from Harvard. He has taught international law and related courses at Harvard, Brandeis, Pittsburgh, and other universities. In the private sector, he has worked on international transactions for a major law firm in Boston, and for leading global companies. He has also worked on the ground on human rights and judicial reform projects in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Afghanistan, and Russia. He is fluent is French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. His publications include two books and a blog on International Law, Politics, and Security.
Lois Farfel Stark is a former producer/writer of international documentary films for NBC. She is the author of The Telling Image: Shapes of Changing Times, a 2020 winner of the Independent Press Awards, an international competition, the winner of the Next Gen Indie Book Awards Grand Prize for the best non-fiction book in 2019, and also a winner of the Nautilus Gold Award, and of the Indie Excellence Award.
